Senator Newell Teaches Kids During Conflict Resolution Month

Friday, October 23 2009

DENVER—This Thursday, Senator Linda Newell (D-Littleton) continues herreading tours to teach students valuable conflict resolution skills through a discussion of the children’s book, “The Hurt.”  She, along with the Conflict Resolution Month team, has also prepared a packet for each state legislator with tips on how they can reach out in their own districts and provide useful tools for managing conflict in their personal lives.  October is a reminder of how civility and respect are possible in all parts of our lives.

“I am continuing to visit with school children because learning to resolve problems peacefully is a skill that will benefit our children now and in the future,” said Sen. Newell. “As adults with these skills, these children will be more productive and cooperative, enjoy stronger relationships, and positively contribute to society.”
